(n. p.), (n. d.). Ca. 1925 - some geographic/tourist photographic images dated with captions. Black flexible board photograph album, with green lettering "Photographs" stamped to front board. Tied with a black cord. Album worn and rubbed, with some light scuffing. Some photographs with light fading, others sharp. A VG+ album with About VG to VG+ photographs.. Black album mounting paper, unpaginated but many leaves in rear blank. 58 b/w photograhic images in album, 8 loose and 50 mounted with gold photograph corners. Oblong format: 7-1/4" x 12" Some viewers may be disturbed by photographs in this album. First many pages of album are occupied by b/w photographs of executions during the First Sino-Japanese War in 1894-96. Beheadings, Shootings, skin flayings... all are represented here. Strangely, the exeucution photographs are followed by images of caucasion soldiers smiling toward the camera and on a hillside. Even further, the next pictures show temples and areas in China, typical images of a typical tourist photograph album (were it not preceeded by the gruesome images in the beginning).
