Mogg's Map of Steam Navigation. Map of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland with the Adjacent Parts of the Continent, from Amsterdam to Paris and Brest; To which are added, the Tracts Pursued by the Packets, in their passage to the Several Outports and the Continent; thereby presenting an accurate representation of the present state of steam navigation by Edward Mogg.
London: Edward Mogg 14 Great Russell Street Covent Garden. January 1st 1834 - (78 x 65 cm). Original hand-coloured folding map of Great Britain and Ireland and part of the coast of Northern France. The map is printed on paper, dissected and mounted on to linen with publisher's printed advertisements and descriptions of places to visit in Ireland to the folded end-sections. Housed in original blue marbled paper slip-case with publisher's printed label to upper board. Small white label with manuscript initials stuck to upper left corner of upper board. The map shows various shipping routes and the distances between destinations, it also includes a note on destinations not indicated in the routes that are served by the major ports and a key to the counties of Great Britain and Ireland. Slip-case soiled and worn at extremities. Generally in very good condition.
