New York: Charles Scribner's Sons,, 1926. Octavo. Original dark green cloth, gilt lettered spine, blind lettered front cover, fore-edge untrimmed. With the dust jacket. Early ownership inscription on front free endpaper: "Philip H. Noyes 3rd, 966 Warfield Avenue, Oakland. Carmel - 1926 - Mar 18th" (the book was published on 26 February). Spine only slightly rolled, jacket at fold of front flap, chipped at extremities of spine, circular stain on front cover (from a martini glass?). First edition, first printing. A very attractive copy in the first state of the dust jacket with the girl's lips entire (later states show the inking of the lips deteriorating) and the type intact on pages 38 and 248.
