Icy Hell.
London: Constable, 1937. - FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. 308. Bound in publisher's blue cloth, titled in gilt to spine, in the scarce photographic dustjacket. Cloth shows very minor edgewear, gilt remains neat and bright, superficial indentation to rear board, otherwise a fine example. Top edge coloured dark blue (a little sunned towards spine), fore edge age toned, tail edge roughly trimmed. Dustjacket is excellent, priceclipped, not typically included. A little soiled to the white rear panel with some light chipping and edgewear, but in the main: clean and bright. A rare early autobiography of a news reel cameraman of the twenties and thirties as he documents Eastern Siberia, and more. Illustrated with full page photographic plates (which are fantastic), and a folding map to the rear. A truly fascinating and uncommon item, from the other side of the lense. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
