New York: Random House 1958 - 8vo., gray decorative cloth lettered in gilt; dust jacket printed in white and orange. First edition, first printing. A presentation copy, inscribed: "To Margaret and Bill Gibson from Bill Inge," on the front free endpaper ---- Playwrights William Gibson ("The Miracle Worker," 1959) and William Inge occasionally met in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where Gibson owned a home and Inge, from time to time, rented an apartment. Both writers had various works performed at the Berkshire Theatre Festival (for example: "Bus Stop," 1957; "Picnic," 1959; "Two for the Seesaw," 1960), located near Austin Riggs Center where Gibson’s wife Margaret Brenman-Gibson was employed as a psychotherapist and Inge underwent therapy.
