O'Flaherty, Liam
THE INFORMER
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1925. First U.S. Edition. Approx. 5.5" x 7.75" VG hardcover in VG black dustjacket with lettering age-toned to brown. Rubbing and mild discoloration to corners and spine ends of superficially mottled boards. Age-toned, lightly soiled jacket, now protected in clear mylar overlay, with slender chips to extremities and one major chip (up to 1.5" x up to 1") at spine head that does interrupt titular lettering here; thin vertical cracks along stress lines; front jacket flap remains unclipped with original printed price of $2.50. Despite issues, jacket retains striking appearance with bright multicolor cover illustration. Foxing to deckle edges of text block. P.O.S. and address (dated 1/31/27) to ffep; partly removed sticker at rfep; otherwise, clean and tight throughout. Scarce in dustjacket. Shelve in: Case # 8 - Rare Fiction [Spine is black with tan text and illustration; head of spine is white paper where dj piece is missing, obscuring the title.]. Dupont.
