With a hand-coloured fold-out map of the county, this copy EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED by a former owner with 68 inserted illustrations (67 engravings, many folding, 1 photograph) being mounted on pale yellow paper, some plated with hand-written titles/captions. Elegantly bound in recent speckled calf over marbled paper boards, with raised bands, red title label. Internally clean, but for some expected browning, old tape mark to p.351; externally fine. A unique copy. A complete history and travel plan for the county as it was in the early nineteenth century, in an attractive binding.
