Ancienne Maison Michel Levy Freres, Paris, 1881. Tenth Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text is in French. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. This copy is signed and inscribed by Alexandre Dumas Fils on half-title page. Wraps rebound, half gilt-stamped navy leather and blue cloth over boards, top edge gilt, other edges deckled, original wraps bound-in, 47 pages, also bound with some pieces of ephemera that belonged to the previous owner, Cuyler Reynolds (1866-1934), a well-regarded journalist and author who was named the Albany City Historian. Reynolds wrote on one of the last few pages: "This book was bought by me at the sixth session of the auction of the signatured collection of James Carleton Young, of Minneapolis, held by the Anderson Galleries...Dec. 12, 1916, and afterwards bound by my own direction."
