(Washington, DC?), nd [1969?]. Color photograph, 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, an image of a smiling Nixon in jacket and tie, mounted on backing board (10 x 8 inches). With Mazo's address label and ink inscription "President Richard Nixon / 14 April 1969" on verso. Mazo (ca. 1920-2007) was a New York Herald Tribune and New York Times correspondent, the author of Richard Nixon: A Political and Personal Portrait, published in 1959. After the 1960 election, Mazo investigated evidence of voter fraud in Chicago and Texas for a series of new articles, but Nixon asked him not to pursue the story.
