VG. Terentius, bettern known as Terence. [Publius Terentius Afer]. In quem triplex edita est P. Antesignani Rapistagnensis Commentatio. Primum Exemplar, Commentariolum est ex omni interpretation genere : in quo affixi sunt ad singula vocabula hyperdisyllaba Accentus, appositae que ad singulos versus Dimensiones, & multiplicia, copiosaque as omnes Comoedias singulasque Scenas Argumenta, variae insuper Annotationes, & exactae Castigationes. Followed by the Secundum Examplar and Tertium Examplar. Editio Primi Exempl. Lugduni: Apud Antonium Vincentium, 1560. 6 3/4in x 4 3/4in, 18 x 12 cm. Vellum, octavo, missing the top inch of the spine and the vellum cracked over much of the front hinge, but sound, vellum with wrinkling and bubbling. With the initials CMF on the title page, and a repair to a worm hole; there is a little worming on the first few pages, and brown (ink?) spots on a very few pages, but generally, quite a nice copy. (28), 383pp [COMPLETE]. Terence (195/185ñ159 BC) was sold to Terentius Lucanus, a Roman senator who educated him, and later freed him. He wrote 6 comedies of which 3 are published in this volume: Andria (the Girl from Andros), Eunuchus (the Eunuch), and Adelphoe (the Brothers).
