Negligible small worm holes to front free endpaper and title page, faint dampstaining to margins, light foxing. Early annotations to front cover and front free endpaper. A solid copy of an important title. * First edition. This important collection of critical philological essays played an important role in contemporary French debates about the chronology of Roman law. Robert was a professor of law at the University of Orleans.
