It also describes Loyola's great humility, living amongst the poor. Gretser's Apologia is a massive defence of the great saint, filled with reference to other great saints, including early Orthodox fathers such as Gregory of Nazianzenus, Latin fathers like St. Augustine and Jerome, as well as English Catholic martyrs killed during Henry VIII's Reformation.
