Bound volume for the year of 1762; 8.75 x 5.25 inches; 3/4 leather binding; title page and preface; 633 pp plus index (listing Essays, Poetry, Names, etc. for the 12 issues). Rear board missing, front cover detached, text block split vertically in middle of volume, corners bumped. Contents in very good condition, but the volume's integrity as a book is severely diminished by its faults. Bookplate on verso of front cover identifies Richard Pulteney, MD, the English physician who advanced acceptance of Linnaean taxonomy and the author of the first English language biography of the botanist. The volume is notable for the various maps gathered in its pages (dimensions given are for plate size and are approximate). These consist of: 1) An Accurate Map of the West Indies with the Adjacent Coast (7.25 x 11.5 inches); 2) Plan of Gibraltar (6.75 x 17 inches w/ restorable discoloration at one fold); 3) A Map of the Island of Jamaica (4.5 x 7.5); 4) A Map of the Kingdom of Portugal (12.75 x 7.5 inches; short tear at gutter edge); 5) A Plan of the Siege of the Havanna Drawn by an Officer on the Spot 1762 (7 x 10 inches); 6) An Accurate Map of the British Empire in Nth America as Settled by the Preliminaries in 1762 (8.25 x 10 inches); also, four folding maps "Large Map of Part of Silesia" Nos. 21, 22, 23 and 27 (bound, as directed in the List of Plates, at the end of the volume.
