The text was edited by Francesco Lucio Durantino from the 1521 Como edition. [Venice: In le case de Ioãne Antonio & Pietro fratelli da Sabio,] MDXXIII (1524) (imprint from colophon). Folio (285 x195mm). A quite defective copy, SOLD AS IS. Pagination: misprinted as usual, ending incomplete on page 96. Signatures: AA(7, lacks title at AA1), BB(8), CC5 (of 6, lacking blank after indices), A–K(8), I(7, lacks I8), M(7, lacks M1), retains colophon leaf at O6r (but lacks 8 for quire N and five for rest of O). 117 in-text woodcut illustrations and charts of architecture, theories on perspective, and plans of buildings. Vitruvian man is present on p. 22. Small 4 and 6-line historiated and decorative initials throughout. Modern embossed calf with geometric and columnar decoration, four raised bands, VITRUVIO stamped in gilt in second compartment, endpapers renewed; (front cover and leaves to BB8 loose but present, marginal dampstaining intruding on text in places, marginal repairs on first 7 and rear 8 leaves, some intermittent browning, covers scuffed otherwise good). Scattered period annotations in Italian, mostly in book 1 and few shaved close. Additionally, some much later and very naive drawings in pencil; ghostlike figures and a few plain scribbles.
