Zurich: DAROS, 2000. "Insomnia has been a lifelong companion of Louise Bourgeois' night hours. Between November 1994 and June 1995, she committed to paper the thoughts, memories, and images that surfaced during her sleepless nights. The resulting 220 drawings are the quintessence of all the impulses, sources, and motifs inspring her work" (from the printed slipcase). A very handsome example of this 2 volume set. Both volumes tight and Fine in their red and navy-blue cloth, respectively. Vol. I: "440 pages with facsimiles of both the recto and verso of the 220 drawings"; and Vol. II: "132 pages with essays by Marie-Laure Bernadac and Elisabeth Bronfen, a chronology, and annotated transcriptions of all texts and notes on the drawings". Tall quartos, the slipcase as well is solid and Near Fine, with just a touch of scuffing to the rear panel. Text in both English and French.
