Principes et leçons de fleurs.
Paris, Demarteau, [c.1780]. Small folio (330 x 250mm), divisional title and 15 finely engraved plates only, printed in bistre, after crayon drawings by Prevost, unbound, without general title and one plate. Very scarce series of engravings dedicated to "Mademoiselle de Rochemore" not in any of the obvious bibliographies. This is a very fine series of floral engravings in the style of Spaendonck, Redouté, Bessa, etc. Benoit Louis Prevost (1747-1804) is better known for his religious engravings and the many fine portrait paintings displayed in the galleries in Paris.
