London: From the Private Press of Longman Hurst Rees Orme and Browne, 1815. FIRST COLLECTED EDITION. 2 volumes. 4to, 280 x 214 mms., pp. [viii], x [xi text, xii blank], 68, [iii - xvii [xviii blank], [iii], x - xxiii [xxiv lbank], 78, [viii], [iii] - viii, 24, [vii], iv - vii [viii contents], 16, v [vi blank], [7] - 37 [38 blank], xi [xii blank], 168; [xi], vi ,2, [8], 69 [70 colophon], [vi], 234 [235 blank, 236 colophon], 29 [30 blank], xxiii [xxiv blank], vi, [7] - 110, including half-title in volume 1, engraved vignette on title-pages, recently rebound in half dark plum morocco, title in gilt on spines, marbled boards; ex-library with the library stamp in blind of Wigan Public Library on title-pages, but barely visible. A fine set. As the erratic pagination suggests, these reprints were issued serially, and Brydges (1762–1837) was assisted in his antiquarian endeavours by other scholars, e. g., Thomas Park and Joseph Haslewood. Dibdin in The Bibliographer's Manual of English Literature claims that only 200 copies were printed. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
