1820. Hand-coloured aquatint strip panorama, raised in egg-white, in nine sections (56 x 4638 mm overall). Original giltstamped and illustrated green cloth, in like narrow cloth case. A fine example of this remarkable frieze of riders and carriages on the road from London to Epsom Race Course, with the race in progress. More than four and a half metres in length. In excellent condition and appealingly presented in the original cloth case (other specimens have been known to have been mounted on wooden cylinders). Cf. Abbey Life 472. Mellon/Snelgrove p. 23.
