Chiswick Press, UK, 1933. Ethel Le Rossignol (1874-1970), was a spirit painter and medium. She served as a nurse between in First World War, then after the war she turned to the world of spiritualism, eventually becoming a medium and started channeling a spirit simply known as J.P.F. and producing paintings and drawings for which, though she had some formal art education, Ethel claimed no credit, insisting that J.P.F. was the real author. J.P.F. also transmitted to Ethel the teachings of a group of advanced spirits, who explained the meanings of the paintings. These teachings and associated illustrations were collected in 1933 into this book which Ethel self-published under the imprint The Chiswick Press. The book contains a total of 42 illustrated figures, seven are full colour illustrations laid on & the other 35 are line drawings with text. Book - Boards have been recovered in matching blue cloth now with paper title label to spine. Contents, slight spotting to the front paste down and slight marking and slight spotting to the rear paste down, slight crease to the bottom right hand corner of the free front end paper, title pages, introductory pages and first few pages, slight bumping to the long extreme edge of the next few pages, slight marking to the occasional page, slight yellowing to the text page opposite fig 31, 3cm closed and repaired to the edge of the text pages opposite figs 6-9 SEE SCAN #5, slight yellowing to the border edges of the coloured figures otherwise clean and tightly bound.
