The Hakluyt Society, London. Dimensions: 22.5cm x 14.5cm approx. Hardcover First Edition in light brown full leather covers published by the Hakluyt Society, London in 1861. A scarce first edition of this fascinating account. 237 pages with hand coloured map as frontispiece. Condition: Leather hardcovers have a fair bit of wear/marking. Gilt embossed spine and "General Assembly New Zealand Library" embossed in gilt to front cover. Small library book plate to front paste down. Neat inscription in the name of "Revd Thomas Bell" to top of title page. Spine cracked to front and rear hinges (front hinge partly loose). Internal pages good with some yellowing and very minor foxing. Binding tight. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
