1660. Antique print, titled: 'Mensis Januarius.' - This original print shows the month January with a man pointing at a fire burning in a censer, a rooster and holding a three-leaf clover. Colored etching / engraving on hand laid paper. Description: From the series "Ausonii Tetrastichon [Tetrastichs of Ausonius]" (12 Months of the Year). Each of the prints is accompanied by a short Latin poem by Decimus Magnus Ausonius (c. 310-c. 395).Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jan van Vianen' after an anonymous artist. Jan van Vianen (1660-after 1726) was a Dutch printmaker and draughtsman, born in Amsterdam. Condition: Excellent, given age. Some small stains in margin, not affecting image. Creasing in the left margin (from binding). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: A306-01 The overall size is ca. 9.5 x 15.4 inch. The image size is ca. 6.4 x 11.7 inch. The overall size is ca. 24.2 x 39 cm. The image size is ca. 16.3 x 29.7 cm.
