(London: Thomas Kelly 1821-1822). First UK Edition in Two Volumes. 31 hand-coloured aquatint plates as called for (15 in vol 1, 16 in vol 2). Fine full crushed decorative crimson-red morocco gilt by Tout & Sons for London Bookseller and Dickensian Specialist W T Spencer of New Oxford Street (stamp-signed on the verso of the front free end-paper). Joints slightly weak/cracked, top two corners volume II bumped, inner dentelles gilt, all edges gilt, red silk end-papers, five raised bands and gilt titling and decorations to the spine. There are two attractive former owner book-plates in each volume (Charles J Groves [designed by Sidney L Smith] and Henry C Taylor). Photographs/scans available upon request.
