Prior to this publication there were no natural history texts for children.Comprising six parts bound in three.?With nineteen plates to part I, twenty-two plates to part II, twenty-two plates to part III, nine plates to part IV, eleven plates to part V and thirty-two plates to part VI.?115 plates total, and therefore this copy is lacking one plate, most likely to the first part.
