Guns. Knives. Crosses
[1982]. Numerous black and white and colour illustrations. First edition. Tall 4to., original pictorial wrappers, Madrid, Galeria Fernando Vijande. Original catalogue from a Warhol exhibition held in Madrid of the same name held in Madrid from December 1982. The show debuted Warhol's experimentation with abstracting images of guns, knives, crosses, and dollar signs. By taking these items and abstracting them, Warhol once again challenged the viewer to question the status and meaning of these familiar symbols in light of their Pop aesthetic. Signed on the title page in black felt tip pen 'Andy Warhol'. Text in Spanish and English. A few leaves of the English text creased, covers lightly rubbed at the extremities. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Soft Cover]
