My Brother Aquarius : Lengthy Inscriptions From The Author : Loosely Inserted Is A H/W Poem To His Nephew
The sole printing published by Nash Publications, Bournemouth in 1961. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. A few pages have more marked irregular toning to the edges and there is a very thin water stain to the extreme edge of the lower rear end-paper which has offset to the rear paste-down. 62 pages with a coloured frontispiece by Stephen Tennant. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition with a colour design by Tennant, reproducing the frontispiece. Some light wear to the rear wrapper with a 3cm closed tear to the lower front spine fold. The wrapper artwork remains very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A nice copy of a cheaply produced book. Stephen Tennant has filled the front and the blank end-papers with H/W inscriptions, quotes and notes eg 'Poetry is always on the brink of a Revelation, a Miracle'. .' the Rose, - can only duplicate the Rose, But Man has sanctioned a more invidious fate (from a Poem)'.' some ancient exstasy haunts the autumn Rose, a wisdom mulled and brewed from Time's repose (for a new Poem)'.
