First edition, 2 volumes in 1, thick 8vo, pp. xxviii, 371, [1]; xiv, 358, [2] ads; 3 maps (2 hand-colored, 1 folding), 8 chromolithographs, and 61 woodcuts (8 on plates, the balance in the text); attractive copy in original green diaper cloth lettered in gilt on spine. The Rev. Edward Bradley (1827-1889), writing under the name of Cuthbert Bede, wrote this extensive history and guide to the peninsula in the west of Scotland.
