Leaves of Grass c. 1855; Sands at Seventy c. 1888; Good-bye My Fancy c. 1891. Original green cloth, uncut (several sections unopened), t.e.g. 8vo. pp. [4] blank, 438, [4] blank. Very Good/no jacket, as issued. Spine has been expertly rebacked and caps have been reinforced. New acid-free end papers the same color and weight as the originals have been added. Tiny ink owner to title page (pictured); several minor board edge bumps. Overall light page toning; a beautiful tight copy. Referred to as the Deathbed Edition with Whitman's 7-line note (pp.2) authorizing the text for further printings. BAL 21441: Printing 1, one portrait inserted (facing pp. 29), p. 419 signed 2, Binding C (identical to B but spine print reads "Complete 1892" and the facsimile signature on title page.
