Held in a custom chemise and slipcase, which has kept the binding in an exceptional condition. The fourth edition of this work. Paul Avenel was a playwright, poet, chansonnier and journalist. This anthology of his 'Chansons' contains works such as 'Libre-Pensee', 'La Liberte', 'Les Diamants' and 'L'Empire C'est La Paix'. In the original French. The binder's name is written in pencil to the verso of front endpaper, and is confirmed to be a Parisian binding. Bookplate to the verso of front endpaper, 'James Stevens Cox'. Cox was a bookseller, publisher, writer, and archaeologist. In a fine full morocco binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Held in a custom chemise and slipcase.
