Kami o Suku Mura / Villages of Paper Making
Japan, 1973. Goto, Seikichiro. Oblong 32mo. 55pp. Woodcuts, often colored, decorate this survey of Japanese papermaking. The volume is prefaced by a fold-out illustration of the sixteen steps to making paper. Interludes on the specific plants needed for kozo and mitsumata papers, on necessary papermaking tools, and on various villages renowned for their papers, are represented in Japanese and English texts. A compact, playful, and educational volume, stab-bound in decorative wrappers and housed in a chemise. Trace foxing to interior, else near fine and very rare, with only one copy listed in OCLC.
