Julius Klinger
Das Weib im Modernen Ornament ein Vorlagenwerk fur Alle Gebiete des Kunstgewerbes
Leipzig: Verlag von Baumgartners Buchhandlung, c1900. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 13.5" by 16". Julius Klinger. A very scarce German work, a collection of beautiful and colour plates, depicting women in beautiful dresses and art deco style. An excellent copy of this important and very scarce work. Seen three times at auction in the last forty years. In the original German. In the original publisher's portfolio. A collection of the beautiful and colourful plates by Julius Klinger. The plates all depict women in various fashionable scenes. Illustrated with thirty colour plates. Klinger was an Austrian painter, and illustrator. He worked as an illustrator for 'Meggendorfer-Blätter', and collaborated on the magazine 'Die Jugend'. Undated, dated from WorldCat. In the original publisher's cloth folder. Externally, unusually smart. Only some light spots and marks to the boards. Some lifting to the head and tail of the spine, mostly to the tail, and some light wear to the extremities, resulting in some small tears. Inner wraps of the portfolio are lightly age-toned, and are a little torn to the folds but survive very well for a delicate item. Prior owner's pencil note to the tail of the folder. Internally, unbound, as issued. Plates are bright and clean and excellent. The two text leaves are lightly age-toned as usual with some spots and edge wear. Very Good Indeed
