Collins' Standard Map of London.
LondonEdward Stanford 6 Charing Cross, 1872. Map dimensions 62 x 84 cm, overall dimensions 67 x 87 cm. Folding plan of London showing the extents from Stoke Newington down to Camberwell and West India Docks across to Notting Hill. Original colour in block and outline, the railway terminii highlighted in red. The map divided into one mile squares, numbered and lettered at the border. The whole dissected into 32 sections and mounted on linen. The plan folds between original brown cloth covers, original title label to the upper board, "New London Guide" (pp. 23) pasted in at inner cover. Printed list of public conveyances to folded end section on linen verso. Covers worn, joints starting. Plan paper toned overall, some minor creasing, otherwise in good condition. Hyde, No. 56, A. (11). This edition not listed by Boyle, but cf. no. 245 for a similar edition. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
