First Limited Edition; Med. 8vo; pp .x, 107; engraved frontispiece by Randolph Caldecott and engraved tailpiece by Kate Greenway, special deluxe full vellum binding a little browned and marked, title lettered in gilt on spine, gilt line decoration to boards, inscribed by author on half title page, bookplate on front endpaper of Annie Yorke, some foxing to early and later pages, good copy. Frederick Locker-Lampson (1821-1895) only published this one volume of his own poems. He was acquainted with practically all the major literary figures of his age, including Matthew Arnold, the Browinngs, Carlyle, Dickens, Eliot, Leigh Hunt, Ruskin, Thackery and Trollope and he also mentored the illustrator artists Randolph Caldecott and Kate Greenway who provided the illustrations to this book.
