London. H. R. Young. 1818. Folio, 14x11 inches, full contemporary straight grain morocco gilt, rebacked in calf, a little rubbed. Frontispiece, title, 22pp and 179 etching on 96 sheets, thus a total of 180. Some general spotting and a stain to one plate but a usable copy. Stefano della Bella 1610–1664 was an Italian draughtsman and printmaker known for etchings of a great variety of subjects, including military and court scenes, landscapes, and lively genre scenes. He left 1052 prints, and several thousand drawings, but only one known painting. He was born and died in Florence, Italy. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
