London [?]: [No Publisher], 2004. 10 pound British banknote measuring 5 5/8" x 3". Non-editioned multiple. Offset lithograph in colors, on flexible currency paper. The recto is headed "Banksy of England," below that the words "I Promise to Pay the Bearer on Demand the Ultimate Price" and in the portrait below that the late Princess Diana replaces the Queen. The verso has Charles Darwin's portrait, above the words, "Trust No One." Fine. Tiny printing irregularity to the "a" in "Banksy of England." Provenance: obtained via the rare bookselling trade. One of the wryly subversive banknotes designed by the renowned street artist, scattered at the Notting Hill Carnival, Reading Rock Festival, and the Santa's Ghetto Exhibition. Fine.
