[Inaugural Address.] Gen. Andrew Jackson. Was born at Waxsaw, South Carolina March 15th 1767 . . . Elected president of the United States February 11th 1829, reelected in 1832. Inaugural address, delivered on being sworn into office, March 4th 1829 . . . [caption title].
[Boston]: E. Bailey, 1836. First edition thus.. Some slight darkening along the margins; a few small stains on the verso; a nearly fine copy.. Broadside on white glazed heavy card stock, 6.5 x 4.88 inches. Vignette portrait of Jackson (in spectacles), decorative border, text entirely engraved. A scarce Jacksonian keepsake evidently produced by Ebenezer Bailey, an attractive engraved decorative version of Jackson's first inaugural address, with a biographical sketch at the head of the page. Signed "Andrew Jackson" in facsimile of his signature. With the copyright notice at the foot of the text, District Court of Massachusetts copyright 1836 by E. Bailey. A later state, "published by N. Dearborn, Boston," has title: Andrew Jackson. Was born at Waxsaw, South Carolina ... reelected in 1832 Died June 8th 1845 ∆78 yrs. Inaugural address, delivered on being sworn into office, March 4th 1829. OCLC appears to locate two copies (AAS, De Golyer), with a few "Internet Resource" copies held--presumably (one hopes) records attached only to online subscriptions of a scanned copy.
