HENRY, Robert
The History of Great Britain.
London: Cadell and Davies et al, 1814. 12 volume set, 8.5 inches tall. A splendid full regency calf binding with gilt raised bands, twin labels and delightful gilt tooled panels featuring a gilt 'horn of plenty' or cornucopia centre tool. The boards are framed with a double gilt fillet. From the library of the Earl of Lisburne and with his armorial bookplate. Henry's History was innovatory in that it looked at history through the development of important themes. Although controversial it proved very popular. A Lovely bright set. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
