Meyer, Stephenie
Little, Brown and Company, New York / Boston, 2008. First printings of every book in the vampire/werewolf series that created one of the biggest publishing booms of the next decade: paranormal romance. In the sunless northwest United States, new girl in town Bella finds love, death, and love again in the process of coming into her own as a powerful woman. The series has been subject to due criticisms for the age dynamic between Bella and Edward (a common problem of many vampire romances), and the stereotypical tropes used in the conception of Jacob, the Indigenous werewolf and rival of Edward. That said, Meyer skillfully marries romance, suspense, and paranormal elements into a single world so compelling that it birthed a second wave of dedicated readers just after the Harry Potter boom; together, these two women authors defined the reading habits of an entire generation. 4 volumes, 8.25'' x 5.5'' each. Original black paper boards, silver-lettered spines. In original unclipped black dust jackets with photographic elements in white and red designed by Gail Doobinin. Black endpapers. [8], 498, [4]; [10], 563, [3]; [8], 629, [3]; [10], 756, [2] pages. Slight lean to TWILIGHT and ECLIPSE; tough of crinkling to some jacket edges (close inspection only): though the books don't show as new, there are no other obvious faults to speak of. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
