It contains sections on the geometry, mathematics and theory of shipbuilding, timber, mensuration, plans, rigging, anchors and the boatswains arts. It exists in two states - one with eight folding plates and one with ten folding plates. This copy has ten folding plates. See Scott 448. McDonald 276. Adams and Waters 3498. An excellent copy, fresh and clean; nicely rebound in full calf by Bayntun with alternate black and blind decorated inner dentelles. On the verso of the title page is a list of Navigation-Books, Charts, &c. Printed for Mount and Davidson, Tower-hill. With the booksellers ticket of Edward J. Lefkowicz on the rear pastedown. . Small 4to. viii, 152 pp. plus ten b/w folding engraved plates.
