Fold out hand colored frontispiece with a few nicks measures 18" x 6". The Preface notes this work as the translation of text by a French author who was inspired to write it from the Tableau de Paris by Mercier, and indicates reported scenes of debauchery so intense the translator was obliged to soften the text for the more staid comportment of a British public.
