Some Sussex Churches
1903. [N.p., n.d.].. Square 4to. Dark blue half morocco over matching cloth sides by Zaehnsdorf, spine with raised bands, gilt lettered to one panel, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers, bookplate of Coker Adams ("Sub Cruce Veritas") of New College, Oxford to the front pastedown. Title on a banderole mounted to the second blank leaf followed by a handwritten index and 25 accomplished hand drawn illustrations of churches from across the county, essentially black and white with a hint of wash colour to the skies, each with a handwritten description of the building and its history underneath. A very attractive collection. The initials "H.H.E." appear in the lower left corner of each image but it has not been possible to identify the artist. The binding looks to be from the early half of the 20th century which conforms with the illustrations and the description of one mentioning the date 1903.
