Plates illustrative of Ghalib's ghazals in colour and monochrome, all with captioned and decorated tissue guards. Decorative endpapers. First issue binding of leather-textured cloth decorated in gilt. Mughal art, Tagore and Aubrey Beardsley seem to combine here. After the 1947 partition Chughtai became the national artist of Pakistan.Neat ownership inscription on front free endpaper.
