Handsomely bound in later half dark olive Morocco leather by Little, Brown & Co., with marbled paper over boards and matching endpapers. Spine with 5 raised bands and floral gilt compartments. Top edge gilt. 9" X 7 3/8". 224pp. A touch of rubbing to extremities and faint sunning to spine and top edge, else a fine copy. Illustrated in tissue-guarded, engraved frontispiece and plate, portraits of Major General Benjamin Lincoln and David Ramsay, M. D., respectively with reproductions of their signatures below. A highly presentable, well-preserved, and finely bound limited first printing of this history of the siege of Charleston during the American Revolution, collected from contemporaneous newspaper accounts and including returns of troops.
