Includes a chiaroscuro wood engraved frontis. with green wood engraved floral lobe border; title page engraved in a broad flowing border of sweet pea leaves and pods; 29 floriated initial caps with the first rubricated. Pissarro's wood engraved printer's mark for the Eragny Press is on the verso of the colophon. All illustrations are the work of Lucien Pissarro, with the blocks engraved by both Lucien and Esther Pissarro, and the cover papers designed and engraved by Esther Pissarro.It should be noted that the book itself was designed by Lucien and Esther Pissarro with the type and blocks set together and the finished work proofed and editioned all by Lucien and Esther Pissarro; the book was printed and issued by the Vale press under the imprint of Hacon and Ricketts.French language poetry of Francois Villon (1431- c.1463) and members of his school.
