Promotional souvenir of Salinas City, California, providing a brief history and overview of the climate, but primarily an illustrated work depicting local houses and businesses. At the time, Salinas City was a town of about 3,000 people. In addition to residences, there are several street scenes of businesses, and an image of the Salinas Brewery which was founded in 1892. There are also numerous advertisements throughout. We find one copy of the 1899 edition at the California State Library; the only copy recorded of the present edition, at the Salinas Public Library, appears to be a photocopy. [Attributes: Soft Cover]
