Sm. 8vo, in 4's, pp. [6], 148, errata slip pasted to verso of preface, cont. sheep, spine gilt in compartments, red leather title label, binding slightly rubbed with a couple of minor scrapes including a small piece chipped from lower fore corner of front board, small split at top of front joint, corners sl. chafed, else a very good copy with the bookplate of James Irvine of Kingcausie. [ESTC T42625 noting page 133 incorrectly numbered 132, but in our copy the page is correctly numbered. Gaskell 110] ADAM SMITH'S FIRST APPEARANCE IN PRINT. Edited, and with a one page preface, by Adam Smith. Hamilton was in exile after the 1745 Rebellion, and Smith was entrusted with collecting and editing his poems.
