Lavishly illustrated throughout by John Leech (1817-1864), an English caricaturist and illustrator best known for his work for Punch, this 2-vol. set is a delightful and humorous take on Latin and English grammar, with humorous text by Percival Leigh (1813-1889), a Scottish surgeon who gave up the medical profession to make his living as a comic writer, and later as assistant editor of Punch magazine.
