[ RIVE (Jean Joseph) ].
Contemporary wrappers. First Edition. Very rare memoir of the Provence bibliographer Jean Joseph Rive (1730-1791) who was librarian of the Duke of La Vallière and to whom is ascribed, as states Larousse, the invention of the word "Bibliology". This text is a claim against the administration about his wages as the head librarian of the ancient States of Provence. As all the publications of the author, considered by Brunet as "quite difficult to find", it was certainly printed in a small number of copies and is not listed by Brunet, Quérard nor Larousse. Nice copy, untrimmed.
