BATEMAN'S TRAGEDY
London: J. Pitts, 1810. No Binding. Very Good-. Broadside verse, one sheet, blue paper, approx, 14.5" x 9.5", four column, two woodcuts, over first two columns and title over the woodcuts. "Printed and Sold by J. Pitts, 14 Great St. Andrew Street, 7 Dials, Price One Penny". Folded down middle, corners creased where soiling has collected. Split at fold for about an inch at the top, short closed tear in the middle of the fold, too. In the Bodleian Libraries this item is Edition Bod5999, dated 1802-1819. The University of Chicago's Special Collection lists a copy in its Song Sheet and Broadside Poem Collection 1700-1899 as 1810. The full title is often presented as: Bateman's Tragedy: Or, the Perjur'd Bride Justly Rewarded. Being the History of the Unfortunate Love of German's Wife and Young Bateman. Scarce. .
