The drawings (9 7/8 x 13 7/8") emphasize a nation suffering under a tyrannical and godless regime, where the common people, the workers and the paesants are killed if they don't give in to the bolsheviks. There are also drawings condemning Belgian communists for taking orders from the Kremlin. All the illustrations are signed in the plate, including one dated 1932. One of 1500 copies, of which this is No. 1317. Portfolio heavily rubbed along edges, with some abrasion to paper. Head and tail of spine chipped. Heavy foxing to the first two leaves. Sporadic foxing throughout. Text and captions in French. Portfolio in overall fair, interior in good- to good, plates in good+ to very good condition.
