Flying on Air Force One with Kennedy were Interior Secretary Stewart Udall; Senators Gaylord Nelson, Hubert H. Humphrey, and Eugene J. McCarthy; Kennedy Special Assistant Kenneth O’Donnell; and aide Dave Powers. A large crowd greeted him at the Ashland, Wisconsin, airport.
